Frequently Asked Questions

  • Before our first virtual meeting, I will send you an email to my HIPAA compliant practice software, Simple Practice, where you can sign and complete the intake paperwork before we meet.

  • Our first session will be spent evaluating your needs, history, and goals for treatment. I will discuss my recommendations with you, and together we will determine a plan for treatment.

  • We will meet for about 50 minutes each visit. Typically, therapy sessions are weekly at first. Over time, this can be adjusted depending on a variety of factors. When you and I agree to work together, I reserve your chosen appointment time for you so that we can meet regularly.

  • My private pay fee is $140. Each session is scheduled for 50 minutes.

I am also a network provider with

    • Aetna

    • Humana

    • Kaiser

    • United Health Care

    • UMR

    • Oxford

I accept payment from Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), and all major credit/debit cards.

If you have a PPO insurance plan, as you may be aware, you do have access to request partial service payment reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits (OON). To receive the benefit, you simply pay for services, and I will email you a copy of the invoice. You then submit that invoice to your insurance, along with a claim form, for them to process it. Once they do, they will send you a reimbursement check.

I strongly recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to learn what options are available to you.

Here is a list of questions to ask your insurance provider to help you gain a better understanding of what it is like to work with an out-of-network provider:

    1. What are my mental health benefits?

    2. Do I need an approval from my primary care physician?

    3. What is my deductible and how much of it has been met?

    4. What is the reimbursement rate to work with an out-of-network provider?

    5. How do I submit my superbill for reimbursement?

  • I have a limited number of lower fee slots for clients in need. These are available to those who qualify with proof of income and are based on a family household income sliding scale. Please ask before scheduling an appointment to check to see if there are any sliding scale slots available at this time.

  • Payment: Payment is due at the time of service.

Cancellations: If you miss a scheduled session and have not cancelled with at least 24hrs notice you will be required to pay the full cost of that session out of pocket. Insurance companies do not pay for missed or late cancelled appointments.
